About The Position

Talladega College invites applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach in its expanding creative arts, digital media, and artificial intelligence curriculum. These positions support both the Summer Institute of Dramatic Arts and academic-year programming, offering students rigorous, industry-informed instruction that blends artistic practice, emerging technologies, and culturally grounded storytelling. Adjunct faculty members will deliver high-quality instruction, mentor emerging artists and innovators, and contribute to the College’s mission of preparing students for leadership in creative, technological, and interdisciplinary fields.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the relevant discipline OR equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the subject area.
  • Strong communication, instructional, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Terminal degree (MFA, PhD) or significant industry credits.
  • Experience teaching at the college or pre-college level.
  • Familiarity with HBCU culture and student engagement practices.
  • Experience integrating technology, AI tools, or interdisciplinary approaches into instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses using engaging, student-centered, and culturally responsive pedagogy.
  • Develop syllabi, assignments, and assessments aligned with program outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship, feedback, and academic support to students.
  • Collaborate with program directors on curriculum development and production needs.
  • Participate in performances, showcases, screenings, or exhibitions as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and course documentation.
  • Uphold institutional policies, academic integrity, and safety standards.
