College of Southern Maryland•Multiple Campuses, MD

About The Position

The College of Southern Maryland is accepting applications for a part-time adjunct faculty applicant pool in Engineering and Engineering Technology within the Mathematics and Engineering Department. Adjunct faculty are hired as instructional needs arise, and placement in the pool does not guarantee an immediate teaching assignment. Courses may be taught during the day, evening, or weekend, and in online, hybrid, laboratory, clinical, or other assigned instructional settings. The primary instructional areas include engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, engineering technology, drafting, electronics, and manufacturing. The Engineering AS program prepares students to transfer to bachelor's degree programs in engineering disciplines. The Engineering Technology AAS program develops the skills and knowledge needed for technician roles in engineering settings. The adjunct faculty member plans, prepares, presents, assesses, and evaluates instruction to promote student-centered learning. Faculty teach assigned courses using approved curriculum and syllabi, support student learning and academic success, maintain course and student records, use College instructional technologies, and follow College policies and procedures. They may also contribute to curriculum review, assessment, and continuous improvement. Applicants should submit a resume or curriculum vitae, unofficial transcripts (official transcripts are required upon hire), and any applicable discipline-specific documents. Applications remain active until the posting is refreshed or closed; applicant pools are typically refreshed annually. Employment is contingent upon completion of required background investigations, including criminal history, sex offender registry, and fingerprint checks.
