About The Position

Shenandoah University’s School of Business invites applications for an adjunct faculty pool to teach graduate-level business courses in a fully online, asynchronous format. Inclusion in the pool does not guarantee a teaching assignment; appointments are made course by course as programmatic needs arise. Instruction areas may include managerial and financial accounting, microeconomics and macroeconomics, principles of marketing, principles of finance, and business statistics and business analytics. Courses are typically 1.5 or 3.0 graduate credit hours and are delivered online in accelerated sessions throughout the year. Approved adjunct faculty may be required to complete online teaching training before an assignment. The complete application includes a cover letter indicating teaching areas, a curriculum vitae, a list of peer-reviewed publications (if applicable), and contact information for three professional references. Applications are reviewed immediately and on a rolling basis. A pre-employment background check is required, and a satisfactory driving record may be required as a condition of hire. Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition of employment; Shenandoah University is not currently able to sponsor international visas. Compensation is $3,500 per 3-credit course or $1,750 per 1.5-credit course. Course assignments and compensation depend on enrollment levels, class size, and instructional needs. Courses with insufficient enrollment may be canceled or reassigned.
