About The Position

Massasoit Community College is seeking Adjunct Faculty for its AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program for the Academic Year 2026-2027. This role involves developing and delivering course content using high-quality pedagogical techniques to ensure student success. Instruction includes assessment of student performance, instructional preparation, submission of final grades, availability to students, and instruction of AVMA required essential skills. Courses with hands-on labs will include both didactic and kinesthetic skills. This is a part-time position hired on an as-needed basis, with potential assignments in Brockton, Canton, Middleborough, or other instructional sites, and may include day, night, or weekend classes.

Requirements

Credentialed Veterinary Technician or DVM license (current)
Minimum of 3 years recent demonstrated experience with specific species and techniques taught in assigned coursework
Evidence of competence in the area of instruction/training/teaching
Knowledge of AVMA essential skills

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an AVMA-accredited program
More than 5 years in clinical practice
Experience teaching in a college setting

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver course content using high quality pedagogical techniques to ensure maximum student success and learning.
Develop course syllabi that meets all contractual requirements.
Employ effective instructional strategies that promote student learning.
Ensure the course meets required course outcomes.
Use appropriate assessment tools to accurately measure student understanding.
Monitor email communications from students and the college and respond in a timely manner.
Provide availability outside of class to meet with and assist students.
Meet all deadlines for submission of grades, student participation reports, student grievance responses and other administrative documentation.
Ensure appropriate training in laboratory safety for laboratory classes.
Follow divisional policies to maintain security of laboratory spaces, chemicals, and equipment.
Work collaboratively with divisional staff.
Provide feedback on student progress to advisement and counseling.
Focuses on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions.
Instruction of AVMA required essential skills.
