About The Position

This is a general posting to create a pool of applicants for adjunct faculty openings in the graduate-level Systems Engineering online program for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Denver is seeking adjunct faculty to teach various graduate courses. Specific course offerings and details will be provided if an applicant's profile is of interest for an opening. The program covers topics such as Project Management, Fundamentals of Systems Engineering, Complex System Architectures, Models, and Tools, Systems Optimization, Design of Space Systems, Model Based Systems Engineering, Validation & Verification Test Planning, and Digital Transformation for Advanced Integration.

Requirements

Master’s Degree
Previous teaching experience
Background knowledge in Systems engineering or related subjects
Successful teaching/facilitation experience with adults at the graduate level
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Responsibilities

Teach online once or twice a week (depending on course)
Design a new or adapt a new course, including learning outcomes, support materials, and a course calendar
Create and Maintain LSM/Course Canvas Container
Assign papers, exams and other deliverables as appropriate
Grade in a timely manner
Participate in recruiting and informational events as needed
Work with students and others to guarantee the best possible student experience
Focus on providing clear value and concise directions for students
If requested, meet with students, over Zoom or other remote platform, to discuss grades, assignments and/or project status
Support enrollment activities as needed
