About The Position

Ivy Tech Evansville is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach Psychology courses to students who may pursue careers in social work, psychology, psychiatry, and other industries. Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time roles filled on an as-needed basis each semester. The faculty member will be responsible for creating a supportive learning environment, providing effective instruction, and assessing student progress within the guidelines of common syllabi provided by the School. This role involves teaching students in person at the Evansville, IN campus.

Requirements

  • An earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social psychology, or any other professionally recognized specialty in psychology.
  • OR an earned master's or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate semester hours in psychology-related courses, including a course in statistics and/or research methodology.
  • Ability to provide instruction in person at the Evansville, IN campus.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as faculty in higher education.
  • Previous clinical or applied psychology experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
  • Provide a syllabus appropriate to the course(s) being taught and adhere to its content and requirements.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy.
  • Submit requested information within established timelines.
  • Be available to students outside scheduled class time for questions and assistance.
  • Address student concerns and consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues if necessary.
  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
  • Utilize technology such as Blackboard, Canva, PowerPoint, etc., as appropriate.
  • Notify the program/department chair in the event of an emergency absence.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for the diversity of people, styles, and views, and promote the same as an integral part of one's work.
