About The Position

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education serving Central Virginia. The college is known for its transfer curriculum, its relationship with the University of Virginia, and its Workforce Development Programs. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis for adjunct faculty positions in various teaching disciplines, including Microbiology. Adjunct faculty are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Responsibilities include teaching developmental and/or college-level courses, which may include distance-learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends. Instruction is primarily face-to-face with the possibility of remote instruction.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Microbiology or a related field.
  • Teaching experience at the community college or university level.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with online or distance learning instruction.
  • Experience teaching developmental education courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching developmental and/or college-level courses in Microbiology.
