About The Position

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is seeking to identify qualified and interested adjunct faculty members for its Chemistry department. PVCC is a nonresidential two-year institution serving Central Virginia, with a scenic campus in Albemarle County. The college is known for its strong transfer curriculum, its connection with the University of Virginia, and its workforce development programs. This position may involve teaching at various PVCC locations, including the Giuseppe Center and correctional facilities. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and will be reviewed as openings occur.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Chemistry.
  • Experience teaching chemistry at the college level is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching developmental and/or college-level chemistry courses.
  • Potentially teaching distance-learning courses.
  • Teaching during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends.
  • Primarily face-to-face instruction with the possibility of remote instruction.
