About The Position

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education serving Central Virginia. The college is known for its strong transfer curriculum, its partnership with the University of Virginia, and its Workforce Development Programs. This position involves teaching astronomy courses, potentially at various PVCC locations including the Giuseppe Center and correctional facilities. Courses can be offered during the day, evening, and on weekends, and may include distance learning or remote instruction. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis for this pool, with review beginning immediately and continuing until positions are filled.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Astronomy or a closely related field, or a Master's degree in any discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Astronomy.
  • Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.
