Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide campus is currently hiring adjunct faculty to teach HUMN 430 – Ethics in Aviation at our Worldwide campus. Successful candidates may also be applicable to teach HUMN 330 – Values and Ethics. The course, Aviation ethics, integrates classical ethical theories with real-world applications specific to the aviation industry. It covers safety, security, engineering, air traffic management, environmental concerns, business practices, and emerging technologies, through the lens of ethical theories such as Utilitarianism, Deontology, and Virtue Ethics. It explores how ethics shape and are shaped by the aviation world and discusses future ethical challenges in aviation. ERAU policy requires that all adjuncts be physically located within the United States while working for the University, including during training. Presently, we are able to support work for new adjuncts from all U.S. states except California. ERAU does not support work from international locations with some limited exceptions for individuals who are residing and working from U.S. military bases. If selected for this role, the candidate will be required to provide proof of stated qualifications. This includes, but is not limited to, official transcripts, copies of professional licenses/certifications, documentation of military experience, and/or verified professional industry related experience.
