About The Position
Grand Canyon University is seeking an online adjunct faculty member in the College of Education to teach Child Guidance and Classroom Management in Early Childhood. The course is writing intensive and focuses on creating a positive learning culture, implementing classroom management strategies, supporting students with challenging behaviors, and addressing young children’s social and emotional needs. It explores theories, models, and methodologies for fostering a safe and effective classroom environment, as well as the educational benefits of family involvement, addressing diverse learning needs, and developing realistic management policies and procedures. The adjunct faculty member provides program instruction online using innovative teaching methodologies, current technologies, and industry trends. The role includes equipping students with required skills, facilitating discussions, assessing student performance, and preparing students to succeed as leaders in their chosen professions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Education or Early Childhood Education.
- Two areas of exceptional expertise.
- Valid state teacher certification in Early Childhood Education, or valid state teacher certification in Elementary Education with an Endorsement in Early Childhood Education.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience in a birth-K3 setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide program instruction in an online format using innovative teaching methodologies, current technologies, and industry trends.
- Equip students with the required skill set.
- Facilitate classroom discussions and weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom.
- Assess student performance.
- Prepare students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.
- Meet weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes.
- Respond to students’ questions and emails within established timeframes.
- Support the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.
