About The Position

Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join their academics team. This role involves teaching assigned courses in both in-person and asynchronous online modalities, maintaining office hours, and providing quality education with high academic standards. The faculty members are expected to be coaches and mentors, igniting a lifelong love of learning in students and adapting to diverse learning styles. A strong faculty-student relationship and community building are emphasized. The position requires teaching graduate-level MKT500 classes in a hybrid format for the upcoming Fall quarter, starting October 5th. This includes 11 in-person sessions of 2 hours each week at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at a specific Strayer University Campus, with the remainder of the course instructed asynchronously online. Faculty must arrive on campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in-person sessions.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
  • Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • 5 years of professional experience in Marketing or a related field.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Access information using a computer.
  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.
  • Strong mental acuity.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Doctorate in Marketing or any Doctorate degree with 27 doctorate quarter credit hours(18 semester credit hours) in Marketing (Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, etc.). OR Doctorate in a Business-related discipline w/a Master’s in marketing or any Master’s degree with 27 graduate quarter credit hours (18 semester credit hours) in Marketing

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.
  • Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses as assigned from a pre-designed curriculum and utilize professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction.
  • Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.
  • Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the online component of the course.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.
  • Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.
  • Maintain office hours as assigned.
  • Travel weekly to required location(s).
