About The Position

Career & Technical Education is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach Electric Utility Lineworker (EUT) classes in-person at the Chino Valley Center. This position is hiring for Fall 2026, with a hiring rate of $1,019.00 per load hour. The successful faculty member will prioritize student success, recruitment, and retention, and be open to various delivery methods including interactive, online, day, evening, and weekend classes, as well as teaching at different College locations and in dual enrollment programs. Faculty should also be prepared for both traditional (16-week) and compressed (8-week) course designs, and willing to utilize Open Educational Resources (OER) and innovative assessment forms. Unofficial transcripts must be attached at the time of application.

Requirements

  • Hold an associate degree and document five years or 5,000 hours of current professional experience in the field OR hold a license from a nationally recognized professional association and document five years or 5,000 hours of current professional experience in the field.
  • Unofficial transcripts/professional certifications must be attached when submitting the application.

Nice To Haves

  • Current community college or other higher education teaching experience with prepared materials.
  • Experience with online learning systems such as Canvas.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and teach assigned class(es) in accordance with course outlines, including specified textbooks.
  • Develop and submit to the division office a course syllabus and calendar based upon the approved college course outline prior to the start of class.
  • Promptly submit required rosters, grade reports, evaluations, and academic reports; retain student grade records for one calendar year.
  • Follow the accepted standards of conduct for faculty as described in applicable academic policies.
  • Use the official email address provided by Yavapai College and monitor it regularly for official correspondence, responding to students in a timely and professional manner.
  • Attend required instructional related meetings such as orientation meetings, department or division meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Attend meetings and workshops as may be necessary to obtain or renew certification or essential licensure requirements.
  • Complete all required NEOED trainings on an annual basis.
  • New adjunct faculty must complete the Teaching Online Readiness Course in Canvas within the first semester of teaching.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities offered at Yavapai College, including orientation, workshops, trainings, Convocation and division and department meetings, as applicable.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
