About The Position

The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Delaware in Newark, DE, seeks a dynamic and innovative instructor to teach Japanese culture and language courses as needed starting in Spring 2027. Culture classes may cover film, literature, manga, anime, videogames or a range of these; language classes may be at any level from elementary through to advanced, depending on needs of the program. In-person instruction is preferred, but online instruction will also be considered.

Requirements

  • MA or PhD in Japanese Language, Literature, Linguistics, or Culture.
  • Native or near-native fluency in both Japanese and English.
  • Experience teaching college-level Japanese language and culture courses in the US.
  • Authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities
