About The Position

The School of Arts and Sciences seeks applicants for an adjunct faculty of music to provide private voice instructions. This is an ongoing, as-needed position. The role involves teaching assigned courses, discussing student progress with the program coordinator, collaborating with other faculty, and demonstrating a commitment to serving and inspiring students within an academic context that integrates Christian faith and learning. The faculty member will embrace the mission, vision, and values of Fresno Pacific University, affirm the FPU Faith Expectations, and support the ideals articulated in 'The Fresno Pacific Idea'. Other job duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Master’s degree or higher in Music or a related field
Teaching experience in Music at the primary, secondary, and/or college levels
Strong commitment to teaching
Experience in, or aptitude for, undergraduate-level teaching
Ability to work with students, staff, and faculty in a collegial environment
Commitment to the Christian faith and the University’s mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning and involvement in a local church

Nice To Haves

Terminal degree in Music or related field
Evidence of professional-level performance
College-level teaching experience
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body as well as promote diversity

Responsibilities

Teach courses as described and assigned
Discuss class progress with the program coordinator, including teaching performance through observation
Collaborate with other faculty as needed
Demonstrate a commitment to serving and inspiring students in an academic context that integrates your Christian faith and learning
