About The Position

Provides instruction for non-credit courses in the assigned content area. Faculty positions require an on-campus presence, including when teaching online courses. Positions are considered on-site; after six months of employment, some employees may apply for a hybrid arrangement, subject to job responsibilities, operational needs, supervisor approval, and Dallas College policy. The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Applicants may be subject to criminal background checks, and some positions may require fingerprint checks.

Requirements

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with students and staff in a teaching environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students and staff, through formal training and/or past work experience.
• Ability to provide quality customer service.
• For non-credit workforce courses: a minimum of an associate degree with direct work experience in the specific content area, or specific certification/licensure related to the assigned courses with work experience in the content area.
• For non-credit community-based/non-workforce courses: a minimum of an associate degree or direct work experience in the specific content area, with certification in the content area if applicable.
• Official transcripts are required at the time of interview.

Responsibilities

• Provide course syllabi that include required course and institutional information, such as holidays, grading policy, course details, attendance requirements, books, and resource materials.
• Maintain accurate records for reporting grades and attendance.
• Provide student evaluations in accordance with institutional guidelines and any applicable accreditation or licensure body requirements.
• Meet deadlines for submitting required end-of-course documentation to the division office.
• Complete required Dallas College professional development training hours per academic year.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
