About The Position

Moraine Park Technical College is building a pool of qualified adjunct instructors for Fall 2026 part-time teaching opportunities in our Cosmetology program at the Fond du Lac Campus. This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet college academic and workforce needs. In addition, this position will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals. Qualified candidates will demonstrate successful completion of a state approved Cosmetology Program and two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experiences related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year of recent experiences, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. (Two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.) Candidates must also posses a current Cosmetology License from the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.   • Successful completion of a state approved Cosmetology Program

  • Experience in Safety and Sanitation
  • Experience in Product Sales/Marketing
  • Working Knowledge of Wisconsin Cosmetology and Barbering Laws and Administrative Codes

Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values.
  • Establish a professional and safe learning environment.
  • Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior.
  • Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
  • Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Submit grades within the expected time-frame.
  • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
  • May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
  • Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.
  • Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
  • Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices.
  • Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs, as necessary to support the assigned program area and future trends in industry.
