About The Position

Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year. This position will teach three semester credit hours per 7-week term in the fully online competency-based education (CBE) format supporting the CBE Orientation Courses. The role involves responding to student inquiries within 24 hours, providing timely feedback on assignments and assessments, and facilitating courses by adhering to the standard course syllabus. Additionally, the faculty member will monitor undergraduate-level orientation courses for CBE programs, provide weekly status reports to advisors, and develop and maintain teaching materials such as syllabi and course content. The position also includes preparing and evaluating course assignments and examinations, with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree in public safety or closely related field with 18 hours in field/subject area OR Master’s degree in public safety with terminal degree in closely related field.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned.
