About The Position

The University of St. Thomas Chemistry Department invites applications for an adjunct faculty appointment to teach one or more sections of chemistry lecture and/or lab courses. This posting is continuously open, and qualified applicants will be part of a pool of candidates for review biannually. The salary range for the College of Arts and Sciences Adjunct positions ranges from $5,994 to $6,717 per course. Rate of pay is determined by academic credential and years of teaching experience. Teaching load generally ranges from one to two lectures or laboratory sections per semester, depending upon department needs and enrollments. Adjunct instructors will work under the guidance of a lead faculty mentor and should be dedicated to the instruction and development of undergraduate students. Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry or closely related field.
  • Doctorate (Ph.D.) preferred in the related subdiscipline they will be teaching.
  • Graduate students with an ABD status are encouraged to apply.
  • Cover letter including which disciplines the candidate is interested in teaching.
  • Curriculum vitae with professional references providing evidence of qualification to teach the preferred discipline.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness (if wishing to be considered for a lecture position).
