About The Position
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Misericordia University is seeking applications for part-time faculty positions to teach undergraduate chemistry lecture and lab courses. Courses include CHM 120 (Introductory Chemistry for Nursing Students), CHM 104/104 L (General Chemistry I), and CHM 133 L (Chemical Principles laboratory). Instruction may occur during daytime and/or evening hours, and remotely, based on departmental and student needs. Misericordia University, founded in 1924, is located in the Pocono Mountains region of Northeastern Pennsylvania, offering a blend of liberal arts, professional preparation, and service leadership.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry or closely related field
- Demonstrated content knowledge in assigned teaching areas
- Valid authorization to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- Collegiate teaching experience (lecture and/or lab)
- Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard) and technology‑enhanced instruction
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate chemistry lecture and lab courses.
- Implement the syllabus, experiments, laboratory activities, assessments, and/or grading standards provided by the Lab Coordinator or Department Chair for laboratory courses.
