About The Position

NHTI is seeking qualified adjunct faculty members to teach BIOL 195C and/or BIOL 196C. These courses provide students with essential knowledge in anatomy & physiology, focusing on practical applications and real-world relevance. BIOL 195C is an introduction to the structure and function of the human body, covering topics from elementary cytophysiology to the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous systems, and special senses. The lab work includes microscopy, anatomical models, dissection, and physiological experimentation. BIOL 196C continues this study, focusing on the endocrine, circulatory, immune, respiratory, digestive, excretory, and reproductive systems, along with nutrition, metabolism, acid/base balance, fluid and electrolyte balance, and genetics. Lab work for BIOL 196C also parallels lecture topics.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in biology or related field or at least 12 graduate credits in the field.
  • Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience
  • Familiarity with Canvas (or similar LMS)

Responsibilities

  • Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
  • Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
  • Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.
