Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Economics has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester. We are looking for the support of highly qualified, capable, and experienced adjunct instructors able to teach in-person courses on our Hawk Hill campus. Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Economics has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff ECN101 – Introduction to Microeconomics and ECN102 – Introduction to Macroeconomics. These courses are in-person courses on our Hawk Hill campus in Philadelphia. Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. There is not guarantee we will need any additional instructors in any given semester. Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) offers a wide variety of bachelor's, master's, doctoral, associate and certificate programs. With a commitment to personalized attention through a low faculty to student ratio, SJU may call on the expertise of adjunct instructors to complement the work of full-time faculty across all of its colleges and schools. SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional, experience and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph’s University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook.
