About The Position

Provide lab and clinical instruction for Associate Degree and Practical Nursing students. Teach, supervise, and evaluate clinical lab and clinical activities; evaluate student progress; maintain clinical and lab records and prepare a variety of reports as requested.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution
  • A current, unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina
  • Two full years of prior full-time employment, or the equivalent, in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse
  • Preparation in teaching and learning principles, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, or a willingness to pursue continuing education as required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing upon employment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree in nursing or current enrollment in a master’s degree program in nursing from a regionally accredited institution
  • Community college or postsecondary teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and laboratory instruction of nursing students in programs accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
  • Complete continuing education required by the North Carolina Board of Nursing (Adjunct Nursing Instructor role)
  • Meet all competency, health, and immunization requirements of clinical agencies in accordance with contractual agreements (Adjunct Clinical/Lab Nursing Instructor role)
