The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at SJU is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate lecture and/or laboratory sections in General Chemistry or Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry for allied health professionals (e.g. nursing students). The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level and possess relevant teaching or professional experience in chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related field. Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) offers a wide variety of bachelor's, master's, doctoral, associate and certificate programs. With a commitment to personalized attention through a low faculty to student ratio, SJU may call on the expertise of adjunct instructors to complement the work of full-time faculty across all of its colleges and schools. SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments. Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation for adjunct instructors is commensurate with educational credentials, professional, experience and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are bound to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph’s University, including but not limited to the Faculty Handbook.
