About The Position
The Addiction Recovery Specialist role at Texas Health So We Are Better + Together! is located at the Addiction Recovery Center in Mansfield, TX. This position requires PRN availability with day/night and weekend shifts. The department offers flexible schedules, creative therapies, and a collaborative team approach.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in substance abuse or as a patient care technician is required.
- Alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent with CNA certification is required.
- Alternatively, an associate's degree in mental health or another healthcare-related field is required.
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 30 Days Required
- AHAFA - American Heart Association First Aid Certification must be maintained 90 Days Required
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in substance abuse and/or addiction is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Therapeutic communication is key when interacting with patients, collaborating with the Wellness and Recovery care team, and working effectively with nursing staff, all while exemplifying active listening and non-verbal communication elements.
