About The Position

Mount Sinai West seeks an Addiction Psychiatrist or Addiction Medicine physician for its Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai West Inpatient Addiction Unit! The Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is recruiting a full-time Addiction Psychiatrist or Addiction Medicine Physician to join the Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai West in a hybrid role providing clinical supervision to addiction psychiatry and addiction medicine fellows in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Both our Inpatient Addiction Unit and our Outpatient Program are co-located on the ninth floor of Mount Sinai West Hospital in Midtown Manhattan and are staffed by an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, mental health clinicians, nurses and trainees of all levels. The physician will provide clinical care and supervision to a small census of inpatients admitted to our Inpatient Addiction Unit that are cared for by psychiatry residents or addiction psychiatry / addiction medicine fellows. The physician will also provide clinical supervision to addiction medicine fellows in their outpatient addiction continuity clinic which provides the full-spectrum of addiction pharmacotherapy including injectable buprenorphine products and also provide direct patient care in the clinic. This is an academic position that comes with a faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine and includes clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows in addiction psychiatry and addiction medicine.

Requirements

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in addiction psychiatry or addiction medicine
  • ABMS or AOA Board Certified or Board Eligible in addiction psychiatry or addiction medicine if within 3 years of fellowship graduation
  • Ability to obtain a full and unrestricted New York State medical license
  • Ability to obtain a full and unrestricted DEA license
