About The Position

Pavillon is seeking a full-time Addiction Counselor to join our Outpatient Services team. This hybrid position provides virtual individual and group counseling to adults receiving treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centered care while supporting clients throughout their recovery journey. This position follows a hybrid work model. During onboarding and training, the successful candidate should expect to work primarily from our Mill Spring, NC campus to support orientation, clinical training, and team integration. As training is completed and proficiency in the role is established, the position will transition to a hybrid schedule that includes required on-site work at both our Mill Spring, NC campus and our Greenville, SC office, with the opportunity to work remotely from home on designated days.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Current behavioral health licensure/certification or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina or South Carolina (e.g., LCAS, LCAS-A, LCMHC, LCMHCA, LPC, LPC-A, LCSW, LCSW-A, LMFT, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in addiction treatment or the substance use disorder field.
  • Experience conducting assessments and providing treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Experience facilitating both individual and group counseling.
  • Strong written documentation, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHRs), Microsoft Office, and telehealth platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • If in personal recovery, a minimum of one (1) year of continuous sobriety/abstinence is required.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and clean urine drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health discipline.
  • Experience facilitating Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups.
  • Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and the Twelve Core Functions of Substance Use Disorder Counseling.
  • Experience utilizing evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment approaches.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing addiction, trauma, depression, and anxiety.
