About The Position

Provides counseling services to substance abusers and their families. Conducts and facilitates group therapy, evaluations, and referrals for appropriate treatment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in chemical dependency psychology, social work, counseling or related field.
• 7 years Previous related experience.
• 1 year Clinical experience in health and human services.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age specific criteria in caring for clients and applies appropriate clinical interventions and communication strategies.
• Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm manner.
• CADC - Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor BADCC - State of Pennsylvania within 3 Years
• DL - Driver's License_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Responsibilities

• Maintains a patient caseload and completes clinical documentation including progress notes; plans, updates, and discharge summaries and other clinical forms required by regulation within established timeframes.
• Provides individual, group, and family counseling services to patients and their families.
• Provides support and assistance to other Counseling Programs within the Center for Counseling Services.
• Participates in clinical supervision as defined by the program and reports on the progress of patients.
• Arranges for admission to ASAM Levels of Care.
• Conducts assessment of patients presenting for care at the program and completes required areas of assessment and other documentation.
• Completes all necessary forms, documentation, and clinical functions.
• Offers suggestions to improve workflow or procedures; assists in the development of new programs or groups for clients.
