About The Position

Rosecrance is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Addiction Counselors. The organization has been a leader in behavioral health services for over a century, empowering individuals and families to overcome substance use and mental health challenges through compassionate care and evidence-based therapies. This role involves delivering substance-use disorder services to adult clients and their families, facilitating recovery into daily living, and providing services in an ethical, legal, and moral manner within a safe and therapeutic environment. The Addiction Counselor will run a morning Intensive Outpatient Group for adult clients with a primary Substance Use Disorder.

Requirements

• Bachelors in related degree or equivalent experience and training, required
• Illinois Certified Addiction Counselor (CADC),or licensed in Illinois as a LSW or LPC which supersedes the CADC within 2 years of employment in substance used disorder services.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills,
• Computer proficiency required,
• Ability to navigate and complete documentation in the electronic healthcare record,
• Ability to accurately complete required documentation within the prescribed time frames
• Skilled in conducting individual, family and group counseling,
• Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff or community resources,
• Self-starter with ability to work independently,
• Ability to work within a team,
• Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance

Nice To Haves

• Masters degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field, preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients and/or family members.
• Complete client psychosocial and individualized treatment plan within required time frame.
• Identify client clinical and case management needs and work to address those needs.
• Educate client and client support members regarding all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues and steps to recovery.
• Undertake primary case management responsibilities for designated clients.
• Ensure that documentation in client service record is maintained consistent with expectations defined by SUPR, TJC and Medicaid regulations.
• Maintain communications with all staff (e.g. admissions, case management and discharge plans).
• Assume on-call responsibilities per schedule or when designated.
• Present workshops, lectures and training to clients, families, and staff and community groups.
• Be familiar with court proceedings and available to make court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients.
• Serve as a member of the team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
• Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.
• Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
