About The Position

Rosecrance is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Addiction Counselors. This role involves participating as a team member in delivering substance-use disorder services to clients and their families, facilitating recovery into daily living situations. The position requires providing services ethically, legally, and morally within a safe and therapeutic environment, adhering to regulatory and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field
  • Illinois Certified Addiction Counselor (CADC), or licensed in Illinois as a LSW or LPC which supersedes the CADC within 2 years of employment in substance used disorder services
  • Must qualify as an MHP per Illinois Department of Mental Health Rule 132; LPHA preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to quickly establish rapport
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Ability to navigate and complete documentation in the electronic healthcare record
  • Ability to accurately complete required documentation within the prescribed time frames
  • Skilled in conducting individual, family and group counseling
  • Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff or community resources
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients and/or family members.
  • Complete client psychosocial and individualized treatment plan within the required timeframe.
  • Identify client clinical and case management needs and work to address them.
  • Educate clients and their support members regarding all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues, and steps to recovery.
  • Undertake primary case management responsibilities for designated clients.
  • Ensure documentation in client service records is maintained consistent with expectations defined by SUPR, TJC, and Medicaid regulations.
  • Maintain communication with all staff, including admissions, case management, and discharge planning.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities per schedule or when designated.
  • Present workshops, lectures, and training to clients, families, staff, and community groups.
  • Be familiar with court proceedings and available to make court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients.
  • Serve as a member of the team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
  • Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and the framework of the law.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
  • Serve as a role model for other staff, clients, and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
  • As assigned, perform CLIA-waived laboratory testing and related quality control activities in accordance with CLIA requirements, manufacturer instructions, infection control protocols, and organizational procedures.
