About The Position

The Data Center Infrastructure Operations organization is looking for an individual with proven skills to help support our Facility Operations Center. The Facility Operations Center is responsible for 24X7 monitoring of the data center’s infrastructure. This team will ensure that the customer experience will be optimal and gratifying by way of consistency, reliability and attention to detail. The Facility Operations Center (FOC) is a singular support team which proactively monitors life-safety systems and infrastructure equipment alarms (e.g., chillers, temperature sensors, generators, UPSs, switchgear, breakers, PDUs, ATSs, etc.) that provide power and cooling to data centers on a 24x7x365 basis. We support Data Center Engineering Operations teams who are responsible for the operation of infrastructure equipment. Our role is to ensure that critical alarms are properly Responded to, Acknowledged, Investigated, and Dispatched (RAID). Additionally, the FOC serves as a communications hub during both standard and emergency operations. The FOC Manager is responsible for ensuring that the team is operating at peak efficiency. This involves auditing routine processes and emergency response, conducting data center infrastructure training and drills, providing on-call event support, refining processes, analyzing data and alarms, writing reports, and conducting assessments. The manager serves as an expert technical resource in data center critical infrastructure, operations, and controls systems for the FOC. The ideal candidate will act as a subject matter expert in data center infrastructure for various data center designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the onsite operations teams and be a force multiplier in the FOC. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels. Requirements

• 5+ years of people management and team development experience
• 5+ years of engineering work managing large-scale services experience
• Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units
• 5+ years of root cause analysis and troubleshooting or problem solving experience
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience maintaining SLAs through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting
• Experience operating a mission-critical team or product
• 5+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day use and operation of our monitoring platform.
• Understand the scope, impact, and expected alarms of planned work at the data centers.
• Operate independently to drive positive business outcomes.
• Act as an escalation point for FOC engineers and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Perform alarm analysis and trending during planned and unplanned activities.
• Complete audits on planned and emergency work.
• Provide consistent training and guidance to FOC engineers.
• Refine existing processes and create new standard processes for FOC engineers and Team Leads.
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Routinely analyze alarms and work with partner teams to identify efficiencies and patterns.
• Drive projects with moderate-high complexity.
• Responsible for conducting drills that are region, building, or design specific and identify team/individual growth opportunities.
• Establish performance benchmarks and conduct audits to drive effectiveness.
• SME for data center infrastructure.
• Work outside normal business hours to support the 24/7 operation of the FOC.
• Some travel required.
