About The Position

We are seeking a qualified Class-A CDL Driver to support the testing and validation of autonomous commercial trucks in safety‑critical, real-world scenarios. This role is responsible for operating test vehicles during structured test activities that evaluate autonomous system performance, serving as a key safety operator when the system is evaluated in real‑world driving scenarios. The ideal candidate is a professional commercial driver with strong situational awareness, a safety‑first mindset, and the ability to follow detailed test procedures. This position works closely with engineering and test teams to execute planned test routes, support safety scenarios, and monitor and provide feedback on vehicle behavior during testing.

Requirements

  • Valid Class‑A CDL with a clean driving record
  • Professional experience operating Class-A commercial vehicles for 3 years
  • Completion of professional commercial driver training that covers comprehensive truck operation knowledge beyond minimum CDL licensing requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined driving habits
  • Ability to follow structured procedures and safety guidelines
  • Comfortable working in a testing and development environment
  • Flexibility to support changing test schedules and routes
  • Strong communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to comply with company confidentiality requirements, including signing a Non‑Disclosure Agreement (NDA)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting vehicle testing or development programs
  • Familiarity with advanced driver assistance systems or autonomous technologies

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class‑A commercial trucks during autonomous system testing
  • Execute predefined test routes and safety‑related driving scenarios
  • Maintain constant situational awareness and intervene when required to ensure safety
  • Follow detailed test procedures, operational instructions and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with engineers, safety operators, and test leads during on‑road testing
  • Provide clear verbal and written feedback on vehicle behavior and observed issues
  • Maintain professionalism and compliance in complex traffic and testing environments
  • Maintain flexibility in work hours to support testing needs, including early or late shifts when required.
  • Willingness to travel and support on-road testing in other locations as required by program needs
