About The Position

Liberty Behavioral and Community Services in Downtown LA, CA, is seeking driven, talented, and experienced employees for an opportunity to work with developmentally disabled clientele (ages 5-65). The role involves providing adaptive skills training, including independent living skills (personal hygiene, laundry, cooking), social skills (navigating environments, communication, social pragmatics), safety skills (community, internet, emergency preparedness), and financial management (budgeting, bill paying). As an employee, you will teach adaptive skills to individuals aged 5-65, manage a workload with a 1:1 client ratio (20-40+ hours per client), and set daily/weekly meeting times with families. Training delivery will be based on program goals and objectives. Responsibilities include filling out daily activity logs, data sheets, sign-in sheets, and compiling monthly goal percentages to assess program effectiveness. The job requires travel to client homes to work on independent or family goals and assist with socialization, self-care, daily living, financial independence, vocational exploration, and social/leisure activities. Work hours are flexible, determined in coordination with each family or client, and suitable for individuals pursuing advanced degrees in psychology or related fields. Positions can be part-time or full-time based on case availability. Liberty Behavioral and Community Services adheres to all state requirements for COVID-19.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a must.
  • Master’s Degree (in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Medicine, Speech and language, Rehabilitation, or a related field)
  • Must have valid driver’s license and car insurance.
  • Must have TB test, criminal background clearance.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the design and implementation of adaptive skills training plans
  • At least 1 year of working experience with developmentally disabled individuals

Nice To Haves

  • Capable of lifting 50+ pounds
  • CPR and HIPPA Training, Safety First Training, and Mandated Reporting (procedures, laws, regulations) Training.
  • Clean driving record for 2 years
  • Familiarity with HIPPA
  • Must be able to be hired on with the agency and not contracted (no direct care providers will be contracted)
  • 3-4 years of experience in a supervisory position
  • Licensed, Registered or Certified in one of the following fields and 5 years of experience in human services field, occupational therapy, special education, psychology, nursing, creative arts therapy, speech and language therapy, BCBA certified, DIR certified.

Responsibilities
