About The Position

If you enjoy skiing or riding and have compassion for people who need help accessing all Smuggs has to offer, then this job is for you! Spending time with people with disabilities is both humbling and rewarding. We celebrate all achievements regardless of how big or small. We’re fortunate to share the joy of accomplishment that comes with discovering a new skill or activity. You could end each week with a new friend.

Requirements

• Must be patient, empathetic, and willing to adapt to different needs.
• Requires both on and off snow time with guests, both adults and children.
• Must attend pre-season training.
• Must be able to work in a team setting and alone.
• Have a strong value for personal safety and safety of others.
• Passion for teaching snow sports.
• Must own equipment or are able to obtain by completion of training (must pass binding inspection).
• Must own professional-looking, solid black snow pants or able to obtain by end of training.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Bi and/or Mono ski equipment.
• Snowboarder willing to learn adaptive ski teaching techniques.

Responsibilities

• Spend time with people with disabilities.
• Teach adaptive ski lessons.
• Teach adaptive snowboard lessons (occasionally).
• Work in a team setting and alone.
• Attend pre-season training.
