About The Position

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. We are searching for RN's in the areas of Inpatient Surgical, Acute Medicine, and NeuroSciences. Inpatient Surgery is a fast-paced, multidisciplinary unit providing specialized pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing complex surgical procedures, including trauma, transplant, orthopedic, thoracic, GI, vascular, urology, ENT, and hepatobiliary patients. Acute Care Medicine is a high-acuity inpatient medical unit with approximately 300 beds, providing comprehensive care for patients with complex conditions including heart and renal failure, endocrine disorders, GI diseases, infectious diseases, respiratory illnesses, and hematologic conditions. The NeuroSciences department includes Neuro Medicine units, a Neurosurgical Step-Down Unit, and one of the nation’s largest Neuro ICUs, offering exposure to cutting-edge technology, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based care in a nationally recognized academic teaching hospital environment. Acute Care Medicine has patients with a full range of clinical issues, and due to the patient acuity, advanced training is provided to new nurses. Each unit is led by a clinical manager and lead charge nurse, supported by an advanced practice nurse, case manager, social worker, physical therapist, dietitian, and pharmacist. This multidisciplinary team works in conjunction with physicians, nurses, and patient care technicians to provide quality patient care.
