About The Position

The Inpatient Services Registered Nurse (RN), CAP 1, is an entry-level designation in the Clinical Advancement Program. The RN is accountable for providing and coordinating clinically competent care—including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation—for an assigned group of patients. The role may include delegating appropriate tasks to RNs, LVN/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians. As part of the kidney disease health care team, the RN contributes to decision-making, patient and family education, leadership, and quality improvement activities that support patient outcomes and program operations. Duties must follow Fresenius Kidney Care policies, procedures, nursing practice standards, applicable service agreements, and state and federal regulations. After completing required education and modality-specific training and meeting experience criteria, the nurse may be assigned oversight of patient care staff as Nurse in Charge. The position may also involve assisting at an outpatient facility and providing nursing instruction to hospital or facility staff as contractually stipulated. The role involves direct patient care in a health care facility and requires travel to training or meeting sites and between assigned facilities. On-call rotation and work at night, on weekends, or on holidays may be required according to program needs. The work includes frequent and prolonged standing, bending, patient lifting and movement, and occasional assisted movement of equipment and handling of chemical or water solutions.
