About The Position

Full-time inpatient advanced practice provider position supporting General Surgery and Trauma Surgery services at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center in Macon, Georgia. The provider works alongside acute care surgeons and advanced practice providers in a collaborative hospital environment, caring for complex surgical and trauma patients. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no nights, weekends, or call responsibilities. The average patient census is approximately 15 patients per day.

The Surgery & Weight Management team includes 8 physicians and 8 advanced practice providers and emphasizes teamwork, education, and clinical excellence. The role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to patient outcomes through inpatient surgical and trauma care.

The stated pay range is $47.50–$71.25. Compensation may depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and training. The position is benefits eligible.

Requirements

• Certification as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner, with acute care certification.
• Be eligible for or possess Georgia licensure.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative hospital environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Passion for trauma and acute care surgery.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care for General Surgery and Trauma Surgery patients.
• Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care.
• Participate in daily rounding and multidisciplinary care discussions.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary teams.
• Manage patient admissions, consults, and follow-up care as appropriate.
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based patient care and documentation.
