About The Position

The Clinical Instructor provides oversight, guidance, and mentorship to social work students as assigned by the manager. The instructor collaborates with the academic institution, complies with program-specific requirements, and demonstrates competency in the department by following policies and procedures. The role includes performing the essential and marginal duties of an acute care social worker and contributing to system-wide and department goals through continuing education and professional development.

Requirements

• A current, valid Kansas license as either a Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (KSBSRB) or Licensed Masters Social Worker (KSBSRB) is required.
• Ability to provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
• Ability to serve as a role model for professional performance and behavior.
• Ability to organize work and establish priorities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to be patient and understanding with a student or learner.

Nice To Haves

• One year of Stormont Vail Health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate clinical competency, knowledge, sound decision-making, and an appropriate skill level.
• Provide students with constructive and timely feedback.
• Instruct students in the department and coordinate with professional program faculty to teach key concepts and provide remediation when required.
• Complete professional program requirements, including meetings with the academic institution and written student evaluations each semester.
• Perform the essential and marginal duties of an acute care social worker.
• Participate in developing and achieving system-wide and department hospital goals.
• Pursue self-improvement through continuing education and participation in professional development.
• Comply with Stormont Vail Health policies, standards, mandatory training, and requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
