About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking an experienced Surgical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Cardiothoracic Surgery team in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This is an operative position with a primary focus on acting as a first assist in the operating room for Cardiothoracic cases and coverage of both non-ICU inpatient and surgical call. Secondary responsibilities include hospital rounds, consults/discharges on hospital patients, and postoperative clinic visits. The Cardiovascular surgery department is a progressive, innovative thoracic, vascular and cardiac surgery practice consisting of three surgeons, 4 Operative NP/PAs and 2 non-operative NP/PAs. This recruitment is due to a retirement and aims to maintain current staffing for this busy practice.

Requirements

• Two years of NP or PA experience preferred; motivated new graduates may be considered.
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current WI RN and APRN license and certification as an ACNP.
• Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the WI State Board of Medical Practice.
• Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date.
• DEA registration required.
