Experienced Acupuncturist at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with our full benefits package! We are seeking an experienced acupuncturist to join our Integrative Therapy team. This position provides services in both our outpatient clinic and hospital setting, offering the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population across the continuum of care. The ideal candidate is an autonomous clinician who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Please note credentialing will need to be obtained before starting the position.

Requirements

  • Acupuncturist NH State License Required
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Required within 2 weeks of hire
  • Experience practicing acupuncture 1-2 years required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of acupuncture theory, anatomy and physiology.
  • Demonstrated ability to make appropriate judgments of the patient to provide safe acupuncture.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served on assigned units.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with varied populations.
  • Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
  • High level of service delivery Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
  • Must carry professional liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing acupuncture in a healthcare setting such as a hospital, community health center, pain clinic or other integrative health care setting
  • 1-2 years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducting patient evaluations through physical examinations, assessments, and interviews.
  • Developing individualized treatment plans based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, including the meridian system, special and extra loci, and auriculotherapy.
  • Determining and implementing appropriate treatments to restore and maintain health and achieve balance.
  • Providing acupuncture and related therapeutic interventions, including needling techniques, moxibustion, electroacupuncture, and acupressure.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Accept referrals from physicians either in writing or orally. Schedule treatment and/or consults in accordance with Hospital regulations and guidelines.
  • Documents patient treatments by charting in records.
  • Contributes to acupuncture and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
  • Acupuncture services are marketed with referral sources and at community events to increase awareness and understanding of this intervention.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects organization operations by keeping information confidential, cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
