Actuary, Insurance and Product Risk Management
About The Position
The Actuary, Insurance and Product Risk Management will provide insurance and product risk oversight for the Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) segment, focusing on product risk management, pricing governance, and strategic risk analysis. The diverse RIS portfolio includes products such as Pension Risk Transfer, Structured Settlements, Longevity Reinsurance, Stable Value, Retail Annuity Reinsurance and other products. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to maintain robust risk frameworks and deliver actionable insights that drive sound business decisions.
Requirements
- ASA/FSA with 5+ years of insurance or consulting experience and strong actuarial expertise.
- Broad business acumen, strategic thinking, and advanced analytical and actuarial modeling skills.
- Proven ability to build partnerships, collaborate across stakeholders, and foster effective teamwork.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and skilled at managing multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
- Proficient in leveraging approved AI tools, crafting effective prompts, and integrating AI into workflows to improve speed, quality, and efficiency while maintaining ownership of outcomes.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in retirement product development or retirement financial modeling is a plus.
- Proficiency in Asset Liability Management (ALM).
Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and product/pricing reviews across RIS offerings, ensuring risks are identified, understood, and appropriately mitigated.
- Review and challenge key actuarial assumptions, including mortality, longevity, policyholder behavior, expenses, and investment margins.
- Perform stress testing, scenario analysis, and emerging risk evaluations to assess product profitability under varying conditions.
- Evaluate actuarial models and asset-liability management (ALM) strategies to support sound product and portfolio performance.
- Strengthen risk governance by integrating risk management practices into product strategy and providing clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
