About The Position

The Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. You will establish metrics, provide data analyses, and work directly to support business intelligence. You will evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium and long-term financial and competitive position. You will work on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. The Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting will report to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis. You will ensure data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs/issues, troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis, and develop cost effective resolutions for data anomalies. You will advise executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. You will exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and work under minimal supervision. You will use independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • FSA or ASA plus relevant advanced degree, recent and relevant work experience, and/or other relevant professional designations
  • MAAA
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms
  • Experience in more than two functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving or trending)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with financial or business strategy
  • Experience working directly with both Finance and Actuarial organizations
  • Knowledge of Medicare bid development and CMS regulatory environment
  • Experience supporting long-range planning or corporate strategy functions
  • Experience presenting findings to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
