About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Actuarial Manager to support the integration of actuarial methodologies into our enterprise insurance software platform and provide expert services to the Insurance industry. This role involves applying actuarial knowledge to product pricing and supporting client initiatives. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure our solutions meet the evolving needs of the property & casualty (P&C) insurance industry. Total expected annual compensation of $150,000 – $180,000, inclusive of base salary and a performance-based bonus tied to individual, team, and corporate goals. This range does not include other components of our total compensation package, such as retirement contributions, benefits, paid time off, and other non-wage elements. The salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, work location, internal pay equity, and other relevant considerations. This position can be performed from our office in London, Ontario or remotely within Canada. Remote-based employees may occasionally be asked to travel to our office for meetings or team-building events.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of actuarial experience in P&C insurance
  • Proven experience with actuarial modeling software and enterprise systems
  • Experience working with clients to understand their business needs and deliver actionable actuarial insights for product pricing and risk analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, SaS, Excel, SQL, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship designation (FCAS, FSA, FCIA, or equivalent) or Associateship (ACAS, ASA, ACIA)
  • French language skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive rate reviews, loss ratio analysis, and develop actuarial indications using GLMs and other advanced ratemaking techniques, leveraging client data within the Cognition+ platform
  • Calculate premium and rate change impacts across all lines of business and conduct competitive benchmarking
  • Prepare and support rate filings with provincial regulators, including documentation, regulatory liaison, and ensuring compliance with applicable requirements
  • Conduct detailed data analyses to support underwriting, claims, product development, and other client business segments, identifying trends and anomalies to inform strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and client success, to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
  • Explore and apply emerging analytics techniques such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and AI to enhance client outcomes
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of actuarial data marts and self-serve reporting tools within Cognition+ to support scalable analytics
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of Cognition+ policy and claims data structures to ensure accurate and efficient analytics delivery
  • Support client onboarding and implementation by providing actuarial expertise and guidance
  • Participate in product testing and validation of actuarial components
  • Contribute to documentation, training materials, and internal knowledge sharing
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to actuarial science and insurance software
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
