The opportunity We currently have an opportunity for an Actuarial Intern to join our Corporate Actuarial team in our Plymouth, MN or Boston, MA offices on a hybrid schedule. We are seeking bright and motivated students who are interested in learning from a talented Actuarial team! During your internship, you will have the opportunity to assist on various projects within our Corporate Actuarial division. The projected start date is early June 2027, and the internship will last approximately 10-12 weeks. What you will learn: As an Intern, you will be given a solid overview of property-casualty insurance and Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions’ operations. This position provides challenging, practical, and meaningful work experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Actuarial pricing Actuarial reserving Predictive modeling Stochastic financial modeling Data collection and reporting Information management Programming development. You will focus on developing the skills necessary for success by working with and assisting professionals with day-to-day job assignments and special projects. While your assignments will vary over time as you gain experience and skills, interns will typically perform some of the work of an entry-level actuarial professional.

Requirements

  • Must be working towards a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field and graduating in December 2027 or later
  • Proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and other data entry and spreadsheet applications and programs
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Outstanding organization/time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams is a plus

Responsibilities
