About The Position

Milliman is seeking a recently graduated student to join their Atlantic Region Property and Casualty (P&C) practice as an Actuarial Intern for the summer of 2026. This internship is designed for individuals not currently enrolled in a collegiate program who are eager to gain exposure to the actuarial field. The intern will work closely with project team members to execute key analyses for ongoing projects, producing high-quality analytical work and demonstrating professionalism and strong communication skills when interacting with colleagues, including senior Principals. While much of the work will be in Excel, supplemental programming, statistical, and database skills are highly valued and can lead to additional opportunities. The Atlantic Region P&C practice provides actuarial consulting services across insurance, reinsurance, ILS, and alternative-risk markets to a diverse client base. The team is collaborative and works across multiple locations, with an integrated project structure that encourages interaction among all team members. Milliman is committed to developing a pipeline of actuarial talent and future leaders through exam support and interaction with senior colleagues.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one actuarial exam passed at the time of application.
  • Interest in pursuing a credential from the CAS.
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or a related major with quantitative coursework (or higher degree).
  • Substantial expertise with MS Excel and Word.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for any immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman now or in the future.
  • Strong critical thinking, technical, and analytical skills.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and organize various client needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to clearly articulate questions and ideas.
  • Clearly demonstrated leadership and creative thinking abilities.
  • Intellectual curiosity about risk, Milliman, and the practice's work.
  • Enthusiasm for producing high-quality, professional work with accuracy and integrity.
  • Inspired to contribute to the success of a project and succeed as a team.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills, including collaboration across time zones.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more passed actuarial exams.
  • Some experience with computer programming.
  • Expertise with statistical and modeling tools such as R, @Risk, VBA, Python, SAS, STATA, etc.
  • Working knowledge of supplemental database and professional working tools such as Access and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities
