About The Position

This is a remote internship opportunity within the Insurance Consulting and Technology business, specifically in the Property & Casualty division. The intern will work as part of a team on complex projects related to pricing and product development, reserving, capital modeling, and software implementation for insurance companies. The role offers exposure to various aspects of insurance operations and practical skills development working with credentialed actuaries. The intern will collaborate with industry consultants, develop technical knowledge, and gain client experience.

Requirements

  • Currently authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Student visas, CPT, OPT, H-1B, and other temporary work authorizations are considered restricted forms of employment eligibility. Once these expire, the candidate must be able to present another valid form of work authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the overall pricing and development of personal and/or commercial lines insurance products
  • Leverage predictive modeling techniques to increase segmentation of risks
  • Perform loss reserve analyses, including preparation of actuarial reports, Statements of Actuarial Opinion and Actuarial Opinion Summaries, using a variety of methods and stochastic approaches
  • Learn WTW proprietary software to complete projects
  • Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities/maintain steady progress towards actuarial credentials
  • Build strong relationships internally and with client representatives
  • Document, review and present your own work
  • Assist in creating detailed project plans
  • Monitor project progress against deadlines and budget
  • Follow the firm’s Excellence guidelines
