About The Position

The Actuarial Associate provides technical support to actuarial staff by running and maintaining actuarial models, performing actuarial research, analyzing data, and reporting results and findings. This entry-level role supports actuarial processes related to product pricing, valuation, and risk management while developing knowledge of actuarial methods, modeling, and analysis. The Actuarial Associate works within established guidelines and direction to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics required.
  • 2–4 actuarial exams completed in pursuit of the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.
  • 0–2 years of relevant actuarial or related experience.
  • Basic or conceptual knowledge of actuarial principles and practices.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access.
  • Basic proficiency in VBA.
  • Basic proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work within established guidelines and direction to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing events and priorities.
  • Demonstrated accountability and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to build collaborative and cooperative working relationships and effectively address conflict.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with actuarial modeling software such as MG-ALFA or Moody’s Analytics AXIS (formerly GGY AXIS).
  • Experience supporting actuarial work related to product pricing, valuation, or risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Run and maintain actuarial models within assigned areas under the direction of actuarial staff.
  • Perform actuarial research and analyze results to support actuarial activities.
  • Prepare, analyze, and communicate actuarial calculations and findings related to product pricing, valuation, and/or risk management.
  • Compile, analyze, and report data used in actuarial processes.
  • Prepare reports and present results and findings to actuarial staff.
  • Execute assigned tasks within established guidelines, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Build awareness of the time and costs associated with assigned work.
  • Respond to standard requests from internal customers and collaborate with employees and business areas across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
