About The Position

Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re) is currently seeking talented candidates for our open Actuarial Associate / Sr Actuarial Associate position. This is a Full-Time role within the CSS – Corporate Actuarial department. The below provides a general overview of a position in the Actuarial Development Program (ADP). Your specific role will vary depending on your department assignment, and you will be presented with a formal job description for your specific role once it has been determined.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 1 - 6 years of Life insurance/reinsurance actuarial experience
  • Excellent data-manipulation skills
  • Strong time management and project management skills
  • Ability to execute on multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Microsoft PC software: Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, VBA
  • Minimum of two actuarial exams from the Society of Actuaries with the intent to be credentialed.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Risk Agility FM, Prophet, or other actuarial modelling software
  • Expertise in data analytics programs, e.g. R, SQL, etc.
  • Experience in coding, especially actuarial software

Responsibilities

  • Acquire, aggregate, and develop data for use in experience studies through the use of data analytics tools.
  • Assess client’s information to construct mortality, lapse, and other key pricing assumptions. Works with underwriting, marketing, and others to ensure understanding of the client’s products, distribution, and reinsurance needs. Develop financial projections of transaction using appropriate modeling software and present results for review.
  • Develop, maintain, and run models for use in profit testing, reserving, calculation of economic capital, forecasting, and support in-force management. Validate, format, and present results in an appropriate manner for review.
  • Perform coding changes to software that meet prescribed standards, assist in the regression and UAT testing of software coding changes, and complete documentation.
  • Generate supporting exhibits for Statutory, Bermuda, and Solvency II regulatory reporting.
  • Demonstrate sufficient progress and maintain good standing in actuarial development program.
