We’re seeking an Actuarial Associate to join our Individual Pricing team as part of our Actuarial Student Program. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the development and pricing of Individual life and health products while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
  • Completion of preliminary actuarial exams and VEE credits
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

Nice To Haves

  • ASA/ACIA preferred
  • knowledge of SQL, VBA, or Python is an asset
  • Prior experience with ProductXpress (PX) is an asset
  • Exposure to actuarial software (e.g., AXIS) and familiarity with Individual life products are assets

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of Illustration Calculations in ProductXpress (PX)
  • Support the design, pricing, and ongoing management of Individual life and health products (e.g., Universal Life, Term, Participating, and Critical Illness)
  • Assist in profitability analysis and monitoring of existing products, providing insights and recommendations under guidance
  • Contribute to experience studies to assess assumptions and inform pricing decisions
  • Assist in the preparation of actuarial reports and analyses on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of pricing models and actuarial tools
  • Collaborate with business partners to support product development, illustration systems, and sales processes
  • Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives within the Individual Pricing team.
