About The Position

Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company (GTL) is seeking an Actuarial Assistant to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team of actuaries and work with a variety of health and life products. The position involves gaining experience with various actuarial tools and contributing to projects such as product development, pricing, and analysis. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-5 years of relevant actuarial experience
  • Proven exam success and working towards ASA designation
  • Experience working with complex spreadsheets and large databases
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate with non-actuarial staff
  • Initiative, desire to take on new challenges and responsibilities
  • Intellectual curiosity, desire to learn and grow professionally
  • High level of organization, able to balance multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAS or SQL
  • Programming experience
  • Experience with actuarial modeling software

Responsibilities

  • Support new product development work including pricing analysis and projections, competitive analysis, and sensitivity testing
  • Help with rate filings
  • Conduct ongoing experience studies
  • Develop new and improve existing experience studies & methodologies
  • Work with internal stakeholders to react to changes in product experience
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes
